I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! We ate so much food yesterday that I’m ready for a simple and healthy smoothie bowl this morning.
This smoothie is full of nutrients, antioxidants, omega-3’s, and protein, especially from your hemp seeds!
If you would like to add protein powder to your smoothie, go for it!
Tropical Smoothie Bowl
- 1 handful spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup frozen fruit (peaches, strawberries, bananas)
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water (for a more liquid smoothie)
toppings: chia seeds, hemp seeds, shredded coconut, blueberries, strawberries
Blend all ingredients besides toppings until smooth.
Pour into bowl with your toppings and eat immediately.
Place all of your frozen fruit, spinach, ground flaxseed, and liquids into the blender.
Toppings are always the best part. I like to add so many that you can’t even see a smoothie underneath. My favorites that I used in this smoothie bowl are chia seeds, hemp seeds, shredded coconut and extra fruit!
If you don’t have a lot of time in the morning, prep all the ingredients the night before and throw them in a ziploc bag. Then in the morning, just throw it all in the blender!
