Maybe you are reading this post in hopes that you will find some quick and easy solution. But the truth is, finding motivation is hard, and I will tell you why.
There have been countless mornings where I find myself struggling to find an ounce of motivation. I catch myself wishing for a life that I currently don’t have. But what good does that do? Nothing is going to change if I don’t make a change myself. (Cue first verse of “Man In The Mirror” by Michael Jackson..)
And that’s where my problem usually lies. I wait around for motivation to come find me. The chances that I am going to feel motivated are often going to be slim to nothing. Reality is, you are never going to FEEL like it. And that’s why you must force yourself. If you listen to your feelings, you won’t grow and you’ll never get to where you want to be. What kind of life are we going to live if we just wait around for good things to happen to us?
If you want to transform your body, you have to work for it. You can’t sit around looking at Instagram fitness accounts hoping to magically look like them. You must make yourself put on those gym clothes and get that workout in day after day.
If you want to start your own business, you are responsible for taking the steps towards getting to that goal, whether you’re motivated or not. You MUST put in the work, even when you don’t feel like it.
You are the boss of your goals and that is sometimes hard to deal with. It’s easy to make excuses and push your goals aside. Start forcing yourself to take steps towards the changes you want to see for yourself. Because in a year, you’ll be thankful you started today.
